Why families choose us

Out of 17,500+ treatment facilities in the U.S., very few combine accreditation, technology, and bilingual care like we do. Here's what you can expect — concretely.

Accredited & licensed

CARF accredited, DCF licensed, and a partner of Central Florida Cares Health System. Our standards are audited — we don't just claim them.

Care that sees the brain

The only U.S. facility pairing brain SPECT imaging with DNA and neurotransmitter testing — all bilingual. Treatment plans built on what your body actually needs, not averages.

Bilingual, not translated

Every therapist, every program, every intake form — in English and Spanish. We serve clients from around the world and language is never a barrier.

One roof, 24/7

Living quarters, therapy rooms, gym, sauna, basketball court and garden — all in one 52,000 sq. ft. smoke-free campus. Controlled access. Never alone at 3am.

The whole person

Mind, body, spirit. Medical detox, evidence-based therapy, EMDR, fitness, nutrition, spiritual counseling — and family therapy, because recovery is never a solo act.

People who've been there

Many of our counselors are in recovery themselves. That changes the room. Authentic connection is not a talking point for us — it's who we hire.

Our approach

Most programs treat the behavior. We go deeper.

At House of Freedom we treat the whole person — not just the addiction.

Addiction rewires the brain's reward system.

We look at the organ we're treating.

How House of Freedom treats it
  • Physician-supervised medical detox
  • Brain SPECT imaging (before & after)
  • DNA-guided medication choices
  • Neurotransmitter & micronutrient testing

Addiction often sits on top of unresolved pain.

Therapy here isn't a checkbox. It's the core.

How House of Freedom treats it
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • EMDR for trauma
  • Dual-diagnosis psychiatric care
  • Individual & group counseling

Recovery is never a solo act.

We rebuild the circle — starting with the family.

How House of Freedom treats it
  • Family therapy & weekend sessions
  • Peer-led recovery groups
  • Vocational training & mentorship
  • Transitional housing

A renewed sense of purpose is one of the strongest predictors of long-term sobriety.

House of Freedom is proudly faith-based, and open to all.

How House of Freedom treats it
  • Spiritual counseling
  • Chapel & daily reflection time
  • Leadership & character development
  • Service & community work

Culture shapes whether healing is even possible.

We are bilingual, not translated.

How House of Freedom treats it
  • Fully bilingual staff & materials
  • Culturally-attuned family sessions
  • Latino-led peer community
  • Puerto Rico & diaspora continuity of care

A mind cannot recover if the body is starving.

We rebuild the body in parallel with the mind.

How House of Freedom treats it
  • Sauna detoxification protocol
  • Micronutrient & vitamin replacement
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)
  • Nutrition, fitness, gym & basketball
Treatment programs

Placement begins with a 15-minute evaluation. We'll listen, ask a few questions, and recommend the program that fits — from immediate medical detox to a 15-month long-term residential program.

Individual counseling with drug testing.

Outpatient
Advanced technology

A published study found that when doctors saw brain SPECT images after making their initial diagnoses, most changed both the diagnosis and the treatment plan. Seeing matters. Guessing is not good enough.

78.9%
01 · Imaging

Brain SPECT imaging

Nuclear medicine scan that shows blood flow and activity patterns — the difference between treating a diagnosis and treating a person.

02 · Genetics

DNA & personalized medicine

Genes analyzed — how your body metabolizes drugs and how drugs affect your brain chemistry. Less experimenting, more precision.

03 · Chemistry

Neurotransmitter testing

Finds the root of symptoms like low mood, anxiety, fatigue, and sleep trouble — not just the symptoms themselves.

04 · Healing

Hyperbaric oxygen (HBOT)

Pure oxygen at three times normal pressure, driving healing oxygen into brain tissue. Especially powerful for chronic brain effects.

Paying for treatment

We're sponsored by Central Florida Cares Health System and the Department of Children and Families. For many families, the answer is “you already qualify.” A 15-minute call will tell you for sure.

Grant-funded

Qualifying clients pay less through our financial assistance. Most people qualify.

Most insurance accepted

Our admissions team will verify your coverage at no cost and walk you through what's covered and what isn't — before you commit to anything.

Flexible payment plans

If grants and insurance don't cover it, we offer self-pay and payment-plan options that don't require you to take out a loan the same day.

Questions

Things families actually ask us.

How fast can my loved one get in?
In most cases, same or next day. Our admissions team does a 15-minute evaluation by phone or WhatsApp, verifies insurance or grant eligibility, and coordinates intake. If they're in medical crisis, we'll triage immediately.
Can I visit? Can we stay in touch?
Yes. We have structured family visits, family therapy sessions, and — for families who live far — e-therapy options.
What if they're resistant to going?
This is extremely common. Our admissions team is experienced with interventions and motivational conversations. We'll help you figure out the right approach.
What does a day look like there?
Mornings: medical check-in, breakfast, individual or group therapy. Midday: lunch, fitness and sauna, experiential therapy. Afternoons: skill-building. Evenings: recreation, spiritual counseling, free time, lights out. Structure is part of the medicine.
Is it faith-based?
Faith is offered, never imposed. We have a Christian track for clients who want it. Our clinical programs are evidence-based and work equally well for clients with any faith or none.
What happens after treatment ends?
Every client leaves with a personalized aftercare plan: continued outpatient counseling, alumni support group, e-therapy, career & education help through our Economic Pathways program, and ongoing family support. Recovery is lifelong. We're in it with you.
